Andy and his best friend,<\/p>\n
Bonnie were strapped into the<\/p>\n
Capsule’s ergonomic pilot seats.<\/p>\n
Dead ahead their destination was a fly-by an<\/p>\n
Extra-terrestrial orb, not knowing what their<\/p>\n
Future might be.\u00a0 Would they return to the<\/p>\n
Gravitational pull of earth and<\/p>\n
Hug their loved ones?<\/p>\n
Instantly, the beeps and dongs of their instruments\u00a0 .<\/p>\n
Jerked their thoughts back to the task at hand.<\/p>\n
Knowing scientists had said two blind astronauts, much less children,\u00a0 would never be able to\u00a0\u00a0 complete any mission of<\/p>\n
Learning anything during\u00a0 a fly-by an ET orb.\u00a0 Andy and Bonnie were about to prove them wrong.<\/p>\n
Many times before, children had shown how resilient and creative they could be in this age of\u00a0\u00a0 technology.<\/p>\n
Numerous electronic gizmos, sensors, and synthesized speech programs had proven dependable\u00a0\u00a0 and<\/p>\n
Operationally sound to complete any mission.<\/p>\n
Perhaps, being used to working in total darkness; to focus on the instruments’ data and not on the\u00a0\u00a0 visual<\/p>\n
Quirks swirling around the capsule, gave them the<\/p>\n
Relative security to focus on the task at hand.<\/p>\n
Soon, Andy and Bonnie bumped each other\u2019s fists and breathed a sigh of relief.<\/p>\n
Tragedy had been averted and they were on their way to<\/p>\n
Unite with the Space Station, before their return to earth.<\/p>\n
Vision, in this age of electronics, GPS, remote controls, and synthesized, computer\u00a0 speech, opens\u00a0\u00a0 a whole new World for people with disabilities; from programming<\/p>\n
Xylophone symphonies to writing prose and poetry; from driving a car to piloting a space craft.<\/p>\n
Youngsters and oldsters can still fulfill\u00a0 the dream they might dare to dream.<\/p>\n
Zeal, persistence, and the Good Lord willing, are all it takes.<\/p>\n
