{"id":522,"date":"2011-12-17T11:18:47","date_gmt":"2011-12-17T18:18:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/katechamberlin.com\/?p=522"},"modified":"2011-12-17T11:23:33","modified_gmt":"2011-12-17T18:23:33","slug":"porch-renovation-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/katechamberlin.com\/index.php\/2011\/12\/17\/porch-renovation-11\/","title":{"rendered":"Porch Renovation 11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday, December 3<sup>rd<\/sup>:\u00a0 from 7:10-7:25 AM, a worker was here.\u00a0 It was the plumber, who had been asked to return to put in a \u2018trap\u2019 for the dehumidifier\u2019s drain\u00a0 in the linen closet.<\/p>\n<p>December 4\u00a0 is Alexanddra\u2019s 11<sup>th<\/sup> birthday, but, I\u2019m afraid that her card will be late, as Dave is picking it up this morning while he\u2019s out shopping.<\/p>\n<p>Monday\u2019s activity in the rain was pouring the cement floor in the powder room and spa room, as well as the stoop outside the 9\u2019\u00a0 sliding glass door.\u00a0 In the spring, we\u2019ll have a landscaper come to re-do all of the brick walks and patios.\u00a0 If we can swing it, we\u2019ll have them install a\u00a0 small fountain in the Monet Garden.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, Jeff is on the roof stapling shingles.\u00a0 It is cold and over-cast, but no rain or snow.<\/p>\n<p>Several fellows came during the week and put all of the windows in.\u00a0 We thought they looked pretty good, but, when the Architect saw them, he was not a happy camper.\u00a0 Apparently, while he was out with a sore back, the framers installed a few more studs then the blueprints called for.\u00a0 This is not so much of a problem, except that it reduces the amount of foam insulation that can be blown it-between the studs.\u00a0 The bigger problem was that an extra stud was put on each side of the large, arched window.\u00a0 Thus, when the awning windows are added on each side of the big center window, it won\u2019t look like a single unit after the trim is put on.\u00a0 The Architect has requested the builder to take out the extra stud on each side of the big window, but did not insist the other extra studs be removed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday, December 3rd:\u00a0 from 7:10-7:25 AM, a worker was here.\u00a0 It was the plumber, who had been asked to return to put in a \u2018trap\u2019 for the dehumidifier\u2019s drain\u00a0 in the linen closet.
