Kate’s 2¢: There is a plethora of in-depth biographies of authors and reviews of their books, that state the title, author, published date, and genre; as well as,     describing what the book is about, setting, and character(s), so, Kate’s 2¢ merely shares my thoughts about what I read.  I’m just saying…

“Dark Beginnings”, a novella:   Can you imagine the fright and surprise, if, during sex in a grave yard on a dark and stormy night, there is a lightening flash and you notice many souls watching and grinning at you  as you climax? The conception of Lance was, to say the least, extraordinary.

   As a young man, Lance had seen more than just the human spirit. He’d also seen the evil beyond the veil.  The things that came from this other place, were things that no person should ever have to see.

“Dark Game”:  ‘at the age of 22, Lance sets off after his mother has sacrificed herself to give him time to start  his true journey. She stressed, embrace yourself, so you can embrace others. In a strange town, there have been three years of the football team winning the state title and three missing football players. True evil didn’t play games; it went for the kill. The universe is too smart, too calculated for us to accept the concept of coincidence.

”Dark Sun”;  Lance was sure the sheriff had dealt with  all kinds of thrill-seekers and para-normal enthusiasts in the years since the murders had taken place,  but, his defensiveness seemed to carry a personalness. Somehow, the man was connected to this ‘spook farm’.  Right time, right place; I think we can thank the universe.

   I enjoyed these stories, even though, they made me check the locks on the windows and peek behind the closed shower curtains.

Shawn Hertel did a very good job of reading this for the NLS.
