Kate’s 2¢: There is a plethora of in-depth biographies of authors and reviews of their books, that state the title, author, published date, and genre; as well as,     describing what the book is about, setting, and character(s), so, Kate’s 2¢ merely shares my thoughts about what I read.  I’m just saying…

I’m not sure I understood all the political implications and such, but, I enjoyed this story.  It lived up to the hype of being a best seller.

From the WEB:

Amir Tsarfati (born 22 October 1972) is a famous Israeli author, teacher, conference speaker, motivational speaker, social media influencer, and entrepreneur from Jerusalem, Israel. He is famously known for his motivational speeches and online classes. Apart from this, he is well-known in the country as the founder and president of Behold Israel.

Yohn is one of the high celebrated American public figures. He is best known for his work on religious-centered books like Mondy Night Jihad. Steve Yohn was into religious beliefs from a young age. This is something he grew up acknowledging. After all, he was raised as a pastor’s kid.

Steve Yohn grew up as a pastor’s kid in Fresno, California, and both of those facts contributed significantly to his slightly warped perspective on life. Steve graduated from Multnomah Bible College with a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies and barely survived a stint as a youth pastor.

I understand that a brother’s love for his sister can be a strong bond, but I was sorely baffled by this story.

Historical Fiction

“1980, Pass Christian, Mississippi: It is three in the morning when Bobby Western zips the jacket of his wet suit and plunges from the Coast Guard tender into darkness. His dive light illuminates the sunken jet, nine bodies still buckled in their seats, hair floating, eyes devoid of speculation. Missing from the crash site are the pilot’s flight bag, the plane’s black box, and the tenth passenger. But how? A collateral witness to machinations that can only bring him harm, Western is shadowed in body and spirit–by men with badges; by the ghost of his father, inventor of the bomb that melted glass and flesh in Hiroshima; and by his sister, the love and ruin of his soul.” — Provided by publisher. Unrated. Commercial audiobook.

I suspect the publisher’s write-up contains full disclosure, but the NLS doesn’t mention that this story is an LGBQ+ story and, where does the ‘historical’ come into this fiction?

After all is said and done, this is a good mystery story as it unfolds each member of the household’s hidden secret, besides being gay.  I actually like the ending, too.
